We know that a lot of people do not like Land Acknowledgements for a variety of reasons. We understand those reasons and although we see value in some of the arguments (virtue signally for the most part) we choose to acknowledge the land and those who were here before us. We do so because we grew up not knowing who was here before us. There was no acknowledgement or even knowledge sharing. We were, for the most part, unaware of the history of this land. Acknowledging is just the first step. If you would like more information on the territories you live on check out the App Native Land in the App store.
